It is also important to keep the intake and exhaust system of motorcycle in a good condition because they influence the function of motorcycle a lot. Totally speaking, there are four aspects we need to pay attention to in order to maintain the intake and exhaust system well.
There are two kinds of air filter including the foam wet filter and the dry filter.
Drain the filter element in a non-flammable cleaner or kerosene to remove dust and foreign matter. Extrude the cleaning agent in the filter element with the palm of your hand, but do not twist the filter element with both hands. When the filter element is broken or cracked, it should be replaced. Drip the cleaned filter element into a small amount of clean oil and squeeze it evenly by hand. Excess oil in the filter element is squeezed to make it slightly oily, which is good for the filtration effect.
Use the method of tapping to shake off most of the dust. Or use compressed air to blow out dust and foreign matter from the inside and outside of the filter. If the filter element has a cracking, it should be replaced. If the filter element contains oil which cannot be removed, it should also be replaced.
Remove the exhaust pipe. Then remove the bolt and pull out the diffuser with pliers. Heat the exhaust pipe. After removing the exhaust pipe and removing the silencer, the old chain is pulled inside to remove the carbon deposits and dirt inside. Then use a steel brush to remove carbon and dirt from the muffler, and use a screwdriver and steel brush to remove carbon deposits from the exhaust.
1). The key is to prevent the inside of the muffler from entering water. In winter or wet weather, when washing the car, the condensate inside the muffler should be prevented from increasing or entering water. After we find entering water, the engine should be started for idle heat for at least 10 minutes. The internal water should be drained as much as possible.
2). When the motorcycle is not used for a long time, the hot car should be started once every other time, which is helpful for preventing the muffler from being rusted and prolonging the service life of the engine.
1). When the cold car in winter is difficult to start, close the choke valve and start the engine. After starting the car, pay attention to opening the choke valve in time. It is forbidden to drive at high speed for a long time under the condition of closing the choke valve.
2). Ride-on vehicles are prohibited from installing windshields or other decorative items in front of the engine and muffler, which will affect the heat dissipation of the engine and muffler.
3). Do not drive for a long time with heavy load and low gear, which will cause damage to the engine and muffler. Don't slam the throttle for a long time. When the surface of the muffler is oily, the surface of the muffler will be yellow or bluish.
4). When there is a lot of dirt on the surface of the muffler, it should be cleaned in time to avoid affecting its heat dissipation. When disassembling the muffler, it is necessary to pay attention to whether the muffler is installed in place and whether it is fastened to prevent air leakage, affecting the noise elimination effect and causing yellowing at the interface of the muffler.
5). Engine valve clearance and maintenance of carburetor and air filter should be adjusted and cleaned in time to the insured repair shop according to the instructions in the Motorcycle Driving Manual. If the valve gap is too small or the mixture is too thick or too thin, the combustion will be affected and the muffler will change color.
