The ARRC (Asian Road Racing Championship) is the highest level road race in Asia, it is founded in 1996. Today we will learn its origin and 2019 game situation in China.
The ARRC includes three events: 125cc Sheep Motorcycle, GP125cc and 600cc Super Motorcycle. The FIM ARRC is a unique tournament. It is the only tournament held in Asian, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, China and so on.
In addition, by holding designated model competitions, ARRC not only determines the candidates for rider champion in Asia, but also plays the role of cultivating drivers and qualifying events for the world. In recent years, many riders from national competitions held in ASEAN countries have become famous in the world after passing the ARRC. ARRC has become an indispensable tournament for the formation of Asian competition culture. It is also the only tournament that uses a high-performance four-stroke motorcycle – the 600cc super motorcycle, the Grand Prix motorcycle – the GP125 group and a junior group – the sheep 125cc group.
ARRC holds 6 competitions each year, setting international routes in five countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and Qatar as venues. All levels of the competition are played in 1 station and 2 rounds, a total of 12 games, and finally the champion is decided according to the total score. All the motorcycles used are modified on the basis of the market specifications according to the competition specifications. The performance of the adjusted motorcycles has greatly surpassed that of the commercially available models, and the exciting events corresponding to the highest level in Asia have emerged.
The FIM ARRC has been certified by the International Motorcycle Federation as its intercontinental competition in Asia since its inception. The goal of the tournament is to cultivate riders in the Asian to become international champions. The FIM ARRC is a stepping stone in domestic and international championships. At this training ground, Asian riders can hone their skills by riding high-powered motorcycles that are same to international competitions.

On August 10-11, 2019, Asia's highest-level motorcycle race, the FIM ARRC, returned to China and held its 5th race at Zhuhai International Circuit, which is also the only one stop event of the ARRC in China. After seven years, ARRC returned to China. The event consisted of the following five groups: ASB1000, Super Sport 600cc, Asian 250cc, Curved 150cc and the ever-popular ZIC motorcycle race, they all staged at the Zhuhai International Circuit.
The highlights of the first round of the ZIC Motorcycle Race on August 11 were still unfinished. The second round was even more lively. Fans cheered louder and louder. In the morning practice session, the star rider Wang Yibo of Yamaha Wanda team and his teammate Li Zong showed a good competitive state, and played stably in the afternoon race, eventually winning the entire championship. The 47th rider, Zhang Yao of Dong Hexiu’s far-speed ghost racing team successfully held the third place.
At this point, the ZIC Motorcycle Race came to a successful conclusion. The Yamaha Wanda team became the biggest winner of this competition. The team star rider Wang Yibo also won the first two titles of his career.
